How to Make the BEST Homemade Delicious Baked Lasagna Recipe

Baked Lasagna has layers of delicious lasagna pasta, red sauce, white sauce, and cheeses. When you combined these ingredients and bake them, it will become an amazing dish. In this recipe, I will be sharing the baked lasagna very close to my family. We make this lasagna every year, especially during the holiday season. Ingredients

Steps

[pasta]

  1. Boil water and cook the lasagna (lasgne) pasta as directed in the box
  2. Drain water, coat the pasta with oil and set the pasta aside

[white sauce]

  1. Heat up the pan (medium-low heat)
  2. Add the butter and melt it
  3. Add the all purpose flour and incorporate with the butter
  4. Add the milk little by little until the flour mixture dissolves (you can use whisk to dissolve it quicker)
  5. Once all incorporated, adjust the consistency by adding some water. You want to achieve not too thick consistency
  6. Add cheddar and parmesan cheese, 
  7. Add salt and pepper
  8. Add basil
  9. Continue stirring
  10. Set aside

[red sauce]

  1. Saute onion and garlic
  2. Add ground beef
  3. Add salt and pepper and continue to saute until the ground beef is cooked

Note: If your ground beef is too oily, remove the excess oil

  1. Add crushed red pepper (optional) and Italian Seasoning
  2. Add tomato sauce
  3. Add sugar
  4. Medium-high to bring it to boil
  5. Once boiling, adjust the heat to low and continue simmering for 45 minutes. Make sure to stir occasionally to avoid burning the bottom
  6. Turn off heat and cool it down

[assembly]

  1. Add the pasta on the bottom
  2. Add red sauce and some white sauce
  3. Add some cheese
  4. Repeat the same process to build up the layers in order of pasta, red/white sauce then cheese
  5. After you made 3 to 4 layers, cover with foil and put in the fridge for few hours to overnight

[bake]

  1. Preheat to 350F
  2. Bake for 18 minutes
  3. After baking, remove the foil cover
  4. Broil (450F) for 15 minutes or until the cheese is brown
