How to Make the BEST Homemade Apple Pie Recipe

An apple pie is a pie in which the principal ingredient is apple. In this recipe, I cooked the apple and glazed it to level up the taste of Apple pie. This is a simple yet delicious apple pie perfect for the holiday dessert. Hope you get to try and enjoy it! 🙂

Ingredients

Steps

[apple filling]

  1. Cut the apple into small pieces
  2. Add sugar and lemon juice and toss
  3. Heat up the pan (medium-high heat)
  4. Melt the butter and add the apple
  5. Add salt and cook for 3 minutes
  6. Adjust the heat to medium-low, add cinnamon and nutmeg and continue to cook
  7. Put the cover, lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes
  8. After 5 minutes, remove the cover
  9. Add cornstarch
  10. Stir until the syrup gets caramelize
  11. Remove from the heat, drain the syrup
  12. Set aside the apple
  13. Put back the syrup in the pan and simmer until it thickens
  14. Once the syrup thickens, add it back with apple, toss and coat the apple with the syrup

  1. Stretch the pie crust to fit on the pie pan
  2. Set the pie crust in the pie pan
  3. Set aside the pie crust in the fridge
  4. For the top pie crust, to make lattice pie crust, cut into strips
  5. Set aside (put in the fridge

  1. Beat egg and mix with whipping cream

  1. Combine sugar and cinnamon

  1. In the pie, add the apple filling
  2. On top, lay the longest pie crust strip in the center then lay long to short from the center to the end
  3. Fold the center strip and the strip next after to the center and place another strip underneath
  4. Unfold the strips and fold the other strips then place another strip underneath. Repeat this process until you fill all the pie
  5. Trim any excessed strips
  6. Fold in the edges
  7. Brush the top with egg wash
  8. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F
  2. Bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown
