The traditional way of making this dish is grilling the milkfish. It is called Inihaw na Bangus or Grilled Milkfish. Sometimes it is easier to make this kind of recipe with the use of the oven.
In this recipe, I made the authentic stuffing or the filling and to make it easy to cook, instead of cooking on a grill, I used the oven.
This is the best and easy way to enjoy the authentic inihaw na bangus or grilled milkfish as baked milkfish!

Ingredients
Serves 4 – 5
- 1 large Milk Fish (Bangus)
- Salt
- Pepper
[fish filling]
- 1/2 Red Onion (chopped) – https://amzn.to/3iAnLO1

- 1 pc Tomato (chopped) – https://amzn.to/3iEY7aI
- 1 tsp Tamarind Soup Mix – https://amzn.to/3uyybTI
[dipping sauce]
- Soy Sauce
- Lime
- Red Onion
- Pepper
- Chili (optional)
*adjust the ratio of the sauce ingredients depending on your taste
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350F/180C
- Prepare a milk fish cleaned and cut
- Pat dry the milk fish with the paper towel
- Mix all the fish filling ingredients in a bowl and set a side
- Season the milk fish with salt inside and outside
- Season the milk fish with the pepper inside
- Add the fish filling inside the milk fish
- Prepare a baking tray lined with a foil
- Place another foil (for wrapping the fish)
- Place the milk fish on top of foil and wrap the foil
- Bake the milk fish in the over for 60 minutes or until the fish is cooked
- Switch it to broil, open up the foil and cook for additional 3 minutes
- Serve it!
