About This Dish
Chicken katsu or Japanese style Chicken Fingers is a Japanese dish which is also popular in Australia, Hawaii, London, California, Aylesford and other areas of the world. It is boneless so it is easy to eat. Good for appetizer as well as main dish eaten with Japanese rice.
Ingredients:

- 4 tbsp miso paste (https://amzn.to/2l6BUbu)
- 4 tbsp sugar (https://amzn.to/2NiwJ4z)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (https://amzn.to/32HqbjO)
- 200ml sake (Japanese rice wine) (https://amzn.to/2IROYtS)
For breading:
- 2 cups flour (with 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp pepper) (https://amzn.to/35GBOty)
- 1 cup milk (with 1 egg, ½ tsp salt) (https://amzn.to/30fdBKV)
- 3 cups bread crumbs (or panko) (https://amzn.to/33GdwhC)
Steps:
- Cut the chicken in strips
- Mix the miso paste, sugar, soy sauce and sake to make the marinade sauce
- Combine the chicken and marinade sauce
- Marinate the chicken for 2 hours to 3 hours or overnight
- Bread the chicken start with the order of flour mixture, milk mixture and panko.
- Fry the breaded chicken at 350 F
- Once the chicken is golden brown, drain the oil and serve
