About This Dish
Pork Chasyu is mostly used as a topping on the Ramen noodles but you can also use it as a side dish or make a Chasyu-Don (Chasyu on a Rice Bowl) This dish is pretty simple to make yet there is a variety of usage in different dishes.
Ingredients:
- 500g – 600g Pork Butt (or Pork Belly without the skin)
- 20g ginger
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 stalk Green Onion

- 1/2 cup mirin – https://amzn.to/2mbJiCy
- 1 ½ cup water
Steps:
- Put salt and pepper on the pork
- Tenderize the meat and set aside for 30 minutes
- Tie the meat
- Sear the meat on the pan
- Boil with water for an hour (once the water is boiled, set to low heat)
- After an hour of boiling, discard the water
- Add the sauce ingredients together with meat and boil for an hour (once the water is boiled, set to low heat)
- Cooldown the meat and slice
- Serve it!
