How to Make Addictive Red Velvet Dream Cake Recipe

Red Velvet Dream Cake is a Valentine version of dream cake which consists of moist red velvet cake sponge, cream cheese frosting and white chocolate topping. It is as addictive as the dream cake. Ingredients

Serves 4 to 5

[red velvet cake sponge]

[for the frosting]

Steps

[for the red velvet cake sponge]

  1. Prepare a 7.5inch springform pan (7.5in, 3.11in deep), alternatively, you can use 8×8 Square Baking Cake Aluminum Pan
  2. If you are using springform pan, line with parchment paper.
  3. Grease the pan with oil and set aside.
  4. Sift all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Mix and set aside.
  6. In a separate bowl, add butter (unstalted, sotened at room temperature), sugar, vegetable oil and mix to cream it.
  7. Add eggs one at a time while mixing
  8. Add vanilla extract and continue mixing.
  9. In the buttermilk, add vinegar and red food coloring. (add more or less red food coloring depending on your color preferences.)
  10. Then add the buttermilk mixture into batter mixture and mix.
  11. Add the dry ingredients into batter mixture.
  12. Add the dry ingredients in 3 batches.
  13. Once all incorporated, transfer it into a pan.
  14. Add half of the batter mixture in a springform pan and other half in an aluminum pan.
  15. Tap the pan few times to remove the air.
  16. Preheat oven to 350F or 180C.
  17. Bake for 25 minutes or until cooked through. (do the toothpick test to check)

[for the cream cheese frosting]

  1. In a bowl, cream the cream cheese.
  2. Add condensed milk and continue to mix until smoothen.
  3. Add heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Add cornstarch and mix.
  6. Heat up the pan and pour the frosting mixture.
  7. Keep stirring until the frosting thickens.
  8. Cool it down and set aside.

Note: Complete these steps before proceeding to make the white chocolate topping.

  1. Transfer the red velvet cake sponge into a tin can.
  2. Add the cream cheese frosting on top of the cake sponge.
  3. Level the frosting and set aside.

[for the white chocolate topping]

  1. Boil water in a pot.
  2. Place a bowl on top of the pot and add the white chocolate baking chips.
  3. Warm it up to melt the white chocolate.

[final assembly]

  1. Add the melted white chocolate on top of the cake.
  2. Chill the cake until the white chocolate topping is set.
  3. Add some cake crumbs (optional)
  4. Serve it!
