How to Make Tofu Sisig using Air Fryer Recipe

Sisig is a very popular Filipino dish. Usually, it is made out of pork meat. In this recipe, I used tofu as the main ingredient for a healthy option. We will be making crispy tofu with the use of Air Fryer to reduce the use of oil and less mess to clean up and you can make crispy tofu easily in this way. Finishing up on a cast iron, tofu sisig tastes like an authentic sisig but fewer fats and oil.

Ingredients

Serves 3 to 4


Steps

  1. Drain the water in the tofu package and leave it for about 15 minutes.
  2. Cover with a paper towel to remove excess liquid.
  3. Chop the tofu into dice.
  4. Coat the chopped tofu with cornstarch.
  5. Spray the Air Fryer basket with oil.
  6. Dump the tofu and spray with oil again.
  7. Set the temperature to 375F and cook for 18 to 20 minutes or until the tofu is crispy.
  8. Pause it halfway to give a little shake.
  9. Resume cooking and finish up the remaining 8 to 10 minutes.
  10. Prepare a cast iron skillet and heat it up.
  11. Add soy sauce, knorr liquid seasoning, lemon juice, vinegar, sugar, red onion, jalapeno, pepper, garlic powder, and air fried tofu.
  12. Stir and add the yellow onion.
  13. Turn off the heat.
  14. Add mayonnaise and mix.
  15. Serve it!
