Ginisang munggo is a Filipino savory mung bean soup. It is made with mung beans, garlic, tomatoes, onions, various vegetables, and patis (fish sauce). It is cooked with pork, tinapa (smoked fish), daing (dried fish), or other seafood and meat. Ingredients can be modified depending on your preferences. In this recipe, make the very simple version of Mung Bean Soup using Instant Pot. It is very simple and easy to make.

Ingredients

- 1 whole onion (https://amzn.to/2VHZ71o )
- 1 tomato (https://amzn.to/2uAn41G )
- 8 cloves Garlic (https://amzn.to/34MHfH5 )
- 1 tsp Salt (https://amzn.to/2MaIEOS )
- 1 tsp Pepper (https://amzn.to/31HUEhn )
- 3 tbsp Fish Sauce (adjust based on your preferences) (https://amzn.to/2Inkb87 )
- Malunggay (horseradish tree leaves) – handful
Steps
- Soak the beans in water overnight
- Set the Instant Pot to Saute Mode.
- Select More (High Heat)
- Put Cooking Oil
- Cook the Pork Belly thoroughly
- Add Salt and PepperĀ
- Once Pork Belly is cooked, set it aside
- Add Garlic, Onions in the pot and saute
- Add Tomatoes
- Put the Mungo Beans
- Put back the Pork
- Add remaining Salt and Pepper
- Add Pork Cube
- Add Fish Sauce
- Give a stir
- Add water until it reaches the 8 cup line
- Stir once again
- Press Cancel, put the lid on
- Set to Bean / Chili mode and cook for 40 minutes
- After 40 minutes of cooking depressurize and mix (you can add some water to adjust the thickness of the soup)
- Add Malunggay (horseradish tree leaves) and give a light stir
- Serve it!
