How to make Japanese Curry Rice (Traditional Cooking) Recipe

Japanese Curry Rice is a very famous food in Japan. People in Japan either dine-in, buying a ready-made one, or cook at home. I made the Beef Curry using Instant Pot which is a quicker and simple way of making delicious curry rice. However, some people might not have the Instant Pot or you want to cook it in the traditional pot method, here is how you can make one.

Steps

  1. Add Beef Chuck in the pot and fill with the water
  2. Add Salt and Pepper
  3. Bring it to a boil. Once scum is out, remove it and continue to boil until the meat is tendered
  4. Set aside meat and broth from the pot
  5. Saute Onion and add back the meat (keep the broth for later part)
  6. Add Potatoes and Carrots. Season with salt and pepper and continue to saute
  7. Add back broth and bring it to a boil
  8. Add Japanese Curry Sauce Mix
  9. Stir until sauce mix is dissolved
  10. Add Honey and Yogurt
  11. Give one last good stir
  12. Serve it
