I used Stand Mixer for easier mixing but you can also use Hand Mixer instead if you don’t have a Stand Mixer.

Steps
[oven and pan prep]
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Grease the cake pan and coat with the all purpose flour
[flour mixture]
- Sift the all purpose flour, baking powder and salt then set aside
[batter mixture]
- In the Stand Mixer, add butter, shortening, sugar and mix until smooth.
- Add vanilla extract
- Add eggs one at a time (drop the next egg once the previous egg is well incorporated into the mixture)
- Once the eggs are well incorporated, add the flour mixture and milk alternately little by little
- Once butter mixture and flour mixture are well combined, stop the mixer and add lemon juice and lemon zest
- Gently combine the mixture
- Transfer the batter mixture into a cake pan. (Do NOT overfill your pan. Leave at least an inch to 1 1/2 inch unfilled)

- Pop in the preheated oven (350F) and bake it for 1 hr and 15 minutes or do the toothpick test
- Once the cake is cooked, cool it completely
- Serve it!
