How to Make the Famous Ritz Carlton Hotel-style Lemon Pound Cake Recipe

Simple and easy way to make the 1920’s Vintage and Famous Ritz Carlton Hotel-Style Lemon Pound Cake. This homemade recipe of Ritz Carlton Hotel-Style Lemon Pound Cake is so easy to make a moist and delicious lemon pound cake at home. 

I used Stand Mixer for easier mixing but you can also use Hand Mixer instead if you don’t have a Stand Mixer.

Steps

[oven and pan prep]

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Grease the cake pan and coat with the all purpose flour

[flour mixture]

  1. Sift the all purpose flour, baking powder and salt then set aside

[batter mixture]

  1. In the Stand Mixer, add butter, shortening, sugar and mix until smooth.
  2. Add vanilla extract
  3. Add eggs one at a time (drop the next egg once the previous egg is well incorporated into the mixture)
  4. Once the eggs are well incorporated, add the flour mixture and milk alternately little by little
  5. Once butter mixture and flour mixture are well combined, stop the mixer and add lemon juice and lemon zest
  6. Gently combine the mixture
  7. Transfer the batter mixture into a cake pan. (Do NOT overfill your pan. Leave at least an inch to 1 1/2 inch unfilled)

[baking]

  1. Pop in the preheated oven (350F) and bake it for 1 hr and 15 minutes or do the toothpick test
  2. Once the cake is cooked, cool it completely
  3. Serve it!
