How to make Lechon Belly (Roasted Pork Belly) using Air Fryer Recipe

Lechón is a pork dish in several regions of the world. Lechón is a Spanish word referring to a roasted baby piglet which was still fed by suckling its mother’s milk (a suckling pig). Lechón is a popular food in the Philippines for special occasions. It usually serves as a whole pig. In this recipe, we will be making a Lechon Belly (Roasted Pork Belly) where it is a small version of lechon that you can enjoy at home. With the use of Air Fryer, you can cook the Lechon in much quicker time.

Ingredients

Steps

[sauce]

  1. Add chopped Red Onion, Chili Pepper, Vinegar, Soy Sauce, Pepper and Sugar in a bowl
  2. Set it aside

[pork belly marinade]

  1. Score the meat
  2. Place the meat in a tray skin side up
  3. Rub in the sauce mixture of combined Knorr Liquid Seasoning and Soy Sauce
  4. Season with salt and pepper
  5. Add garlic and rub in the meat

[air frying]

  1. Place the lemon grass, green onions, bay leaves in the middle of Pork Belly
  2. Roll the pork belly and tie
  3. Cover with a foil and put in the air fryer basket
  4. Set temperature to 350F and cook for 30 minutes
  5. Pull out from the Air Fryer then unwrap the foil
  6. Put the skin side up and apply the soy sauce and oil mixture on the skin
  7. Place back the Pork Belly in the Air Fryer (without the foil)
  8. Set the temperature to 350F and cook for 30 minutes. Rotate the pork every 10 minutes to get the even crispiness of skin
