How to Make Pork Belly Humba (Braised Pork Belly) Recipe using Instant Pot

Ingredients

Serves 4 to 5


Steps

  1. Set to SAUTE mode. (HIGH HEAT setting)
  2. Once the pot is heated, add cooking oil and start cooking the pork.
    Note: if the pork does not fit in one cooking, cook it in a batch.
  3. Cook the pork until the moisture is gone.
  4. Put the pork on the side.
  5. Add garlic and onions to the pot and saute for about a minute.
  6. Once garlic and onions are sauteed, mix.
  7. Add soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, pineapple juice, peppercorn, bay leaves, and dried banana blossom.
  8. Stir to incorporate all ingredients
  9. Press CANCEL.
  10. Put the lid on and use MEAT settings, cook for 10 minutes.
  11. After 10 minutes of cooking, release the pressure. 
  12. Open the lid once depressurized. (make sure floating valve is down before opening the lid)
  13. Set to SAUTE mode.
  14. Add the salted black beans.
  15. Let it simmer until it reduces the sauce.
  16. Serve it!
