How to make Korean BBQ Samgyupsal and Galbi Recipe

About:  

Galbi (or Kalbi, 갈비), Korean beef short ribs, is one of the most popular barbecue dishes in Korean homes, especially for special occasions and gatherings.

Another popular barbecue dish is called samgyupsal (meaning three-layer meat), samgyeopsal-gui (삼겹살구이), or grilled pork belly is a type of gui (grilled dish) in Korean cuisine. 

In this recipe, I would like to share with you how I marinate my Galbi or Kalbi as well as Samgyupsal or samgyeopsal-gui along with the Korean BBQ dip.

Ingredients

[Galbi Marinade]

[Samgyupsal Marinade]

[Barbeque Dip]


Steps

[Galbi Marinade]

  1. Mix all the ingredients
  2. Add Beef Short Ribs in the Ziploc bag
  3. Add the marinade mixture, seal it and marinate overnight in the fridge

[Samgyupsal Marinade]

  1. Mix all the ingredients
  2. Add Pork Belly in the Ziploc bag
  3. Add the marinade mixture, seal it and marinate overnight in the fridge

[Barbeque Dip]

  1. Add all the ingredients, mix and set it aside

[Grilling]

  1. Heat up the plate/pan
  2. Place meat on a pan and cook until brown then flip and cook the other side as well
  3. Serve it with lettuce, kimchi, add the homemade barbeque dip to enhance the flavor of Galbi or Samgyupsal
